Identify five (5) different online storage where you can store and transfer files online and describe how to transfer the data and files online.

 

 

 

 

1. Google Drive


 

To Computer: Upload files & folders

On your computer, you can upload from drive.google.com or your desktop. You can upload files into private or shared folders.

  1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
  2. At the top left, click New and then  File Upload or Folder Upload.
  3. Choose the file or folder you want to upload.

To Android: Upload & view files

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Drive app.
  2. Tap Add Add question.
  3. Tap Upload.
  4. Find and tap the files you want to upload.
  5. View uploaded files in My Drive until you move them.

To iPhone & iPad: Upload & view files

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Drive app.
  2. Tap Add Add question.
  3. Tap Upload.
  4. Find and tap the files you want to upload.

 

2. iCloud Drive



How to use iCloud Drive on the Mac

1.    Open System Preferences (click on the Apple logo in the top left and then System Preferences).

2.    Click on Apple ID.

3.    (Log in to your Apple ID if you aren’t already logged in).

To transfer Online:

·         Create a filing system with folders on your Mac Desktop that will be synced to another Macs you own.

·         Access any files saved onto your Desktop on any of your devices.

·         Save storage space on your Mac by having some files stored in the cloud rather than your Mac.

 

 

3. Dropbox  


To create a transfer on dropbox

1.    Sign in to dropbox.com.

2.    Click Transfer in the left sidebar.

3.    Click Create transfer.

4.    You can add files to your transfer in one of three ways:

o    Click the plus icon

o    Drag and drop files from your computer

o    Click Add from Dropbox

5.    Click the edit icon (pencil) to enter a name for your transfer, if you’d like.

6.    Click the gear icon to set an expiration date or password.

 

 

4. One Drive


 

Ways To Transfer:

Using the OneDrive 

·         On the OneDrive website, sign in with your Microsoft account, and then browse to the location where you want to add the files.

·         Select Upload.

·         Select the files you want to upload, and then select Open

-Using the backup feature

 

5. Amazon Drive


 

You can simply drag a file, a folder, or multiple files or folders to the cloud icon to upload them to your Amazon Cloud Drive. You can also right-click on a file or folder to upload it. On Macs, choose the "Upload to Cloud Drive" menu option. On PCs, choose Send to > Amazon Cloud Drive.
